All is now set for the first ever auto finance summit on Wednesday, 23rd of February in Lagos at The Civic Centre, organized by leading automotive technology company, Autochek.

Just two months ago, Autochek introduced Africa’s first online brand new cars loans marketplace from which customers in East and West Africa can access a variety of financing options to purchase new cars and trucks from reputable manufacturers.

 

According to Etop Ikpe, Founder and CEO of Autochek Africa, automobile financing model is here to stay (and grow), and it will strengthen the economy, particularly in combating what he called ‘mobility poverty’ on the continent hence the Autochek Summit was conceived.

Themed “Creating Economic and Human Capital Opportunities through Auto Financing”, the one-day event will feature a range of panel discussions and fireside chats covering key industry challenges that currently affect and the various growth opportunities prevailing in the automotive space in Africa.

Among the notable guests expected to grace the Autochek Summit are the Director General, National Automotive Design and Development Council, Jelani Aliyu, Chairman, Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria, Prince Ajibola Adedoyin, Snr Partner TLcom Capital and Chairman Guinness Omobola Johnson, Bisi Oni, ED, FundQuest Financial Services Limited, Uche Onyeigwe Group Head Access Bank, and 20 other industry leaders.

With operations across West and East Africa and a partner-led retail footprint in over 800 service centres, Autochek is committed to building solutions to enhance commerce and synergy between the different stakeholders in Africa’s automotive sector.

Its products and services include facilitating access to auto loans, quality maintenance/after sales services, warranty solutions and transactional marketplaces.

Autochek is building the infrastructure to make car ownership more accessible and affordable to more Africans and this event will bring together key stakeholders to engage in the necessary conversations to drive growth and opportunities across Africa’s automotive sector.

While speaking to the press ahead of the event, Mayokun Fadeyibi, Senior Vice President West Africa at Autochek mentioned that collaboration in the industry is key for them, highlighting partnerships with OEMs, commercial banks such as Access Bank, FCMB, UBA,  microfinance institutions, auto-mobile maintenance companies and logistics platforms,.​​

Key discussions to be addressed at the Autochek summit include ‘Unlocking constraints to boost growth and job creation in the automotive industry’, ‘Future of automotive financing and opportunities for the continent’ and ‘The ripple effect of embedded finance to support digital and financial inclusion in Africa’.
