GRA works to resolve tax payment delays on Ghana.gov

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is working with its technical partners to resolve delays affecting some tax payments processed through the Ghana.gov platform.

The technical issue, which began on Friday, August 14, 2026, has affected certain payment transactions initiated through the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS), Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) and Ghana Integrated Tax Management and Information System (GITMIS).

In a statement issued on Thursday, August 20, the Authority clarified that the disruption is limited to payment processing and does not affect taxpayers’ ability to file their tax returns.

Payment processing affected

According to the GRA, the Ghana.gov payment platform remains operational, although some transactions may take longer than usual to process or reflect on taxpayers’ respective portals.

“The payment platform remains operational; however, some payment transactions may experience delays in processing or in reflecting on taxpayers’ respective portals,” the Authority said.

The GRA said it is working with its technical partners to address the issue and restore normal payment processing as quickly as possible.

It also assured taxpayers that payments already made but not yet reflected on their portals will be processed and updated once the technical challenge is resolved.

“Outstanding payment transactions will be processed and duly reflected on taxpayers’ portals once the situation is fully normalised,” the Authority said.

GRA prioritises system restoration

The disruption has implications for taxpayers, importers and clearing agents who rely on the affected platforms to complete their payment obligations and related transactions.

The GRA said it is treating the issue as a priority and has implemented measures aimed at minimising further disruption while the technical teams work towards a full resolution.

The Authority apologised to affected users for the inconvenience and said it would provide further updates as the situation develops.

The incident highlights the growing importance of reliable digital infrastructure to tax administration, compliance management and revenue collection, as Ghana continues to expand the use of technology in its tax system.
