Rack Centre, a leading data centre operator, has partnered with EdgeNext, a global edge cloud and Content Delivery Network provider, to accelerate digital growth for small and medium enterprises in Nigeria.
The collaboration will provide flexible cloud hosting resources that help SMEs and developers deploy services faster, cut infrastructure costs, and advance digital transformation.
The new services are powered from Rack Centre’s LGS2 facility in Lagos and are designed to deliver faster, more reliable, and energy-efficient digital infrastructure. This is expected to benefit Nigeria’s expanding internet economy, including start-ups, fintech firms, e-commerce businesses, digital media platforms, and gaming companies.
With a population exceeding 200 million and a largely youthful demographic, Nigeria is witnessing rapid demand for high-performance technology services. The rise in mobile apps, online retail, social media use, and gaming has intensified the need for efficient digital infrastructure that supports seamless user experiences.
EdgeNext’s entry into the Nigerian market aims to address this demand by improving content delivery speeds, enhancing cloud hosting efficiency, and helping businesses scale. The company’s global network architecture reduces latency and ensures stable digital performance for video streaming, social platforms, and e-commerce services.
The company also highlighted plans to enhance gaming cloud services tailored to Nigeria’s growing gaming community. These solutions will support low-latency gameplay across mobile, PC, and cloud gaming environments, delivering smoother and more immersive experiences.
Looking forward, EdgeNext intends to advance the adoption of edge cloud computing in support of smart cities, fintech services, digital learning, healthcare, and other sectors driving national development.
“Launching our CDN and cloud hosting services in Nigeria is a significant step for EdgeNext. By partnering with Rack Centre, we are delivering secure, reliable, and low-latency services that support enterprises, developers, and end-users across the country,” the companies stated.
Rack Centre CEO Lars Johannisson and EdgeNext CEO Terence Wang noted that the partnership reflects the strength of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure ecosystem. Rack Centre’s 13.5 MW data centre campus hosts over 73 carriers and ISPs, and the LGS2 facility offers connectivity to major subsea cable systems, including Equiano and the upcoming 2Africa cable.
They added that the collaboration signals rising demand for edge services across Africa and reinforces Rack Centre’s role as a strategic access point for global technology providers entering the region.
