Egyptian renewable energy startup Tagaddod has raised $26.3 million in Series A funding to accelerate its regional expansion and strengthen its role in advancing renewable energy adoption across multiple markets.
The funding round was led by The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF), a key supporter of sustainable energy initiatives and regional energy security, with participation from FMO, VKAV, and A15. The new capital will enable Tagaddod to enhance its technology infrastructure, scale operations, and expand into new markets while reinforcing its existing presence in Egypt, Jordan, and the Netherlands. The company is also making strategic moves into Saudi Arabia and other emerging markets in the region.
Tagaddod operates a tech-driven platform that collects, organizes, and tracks renewable waste feedstocks—such as used cooking oil, acid oils, and animal fats—from diverse suppliers including households, restaurants, and food manufacturers. This ensures full traceability and sustainability throughout the supply chain, supporting the production of biofuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
The company plans to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into its logistics and operations to optimize supply forecasting, automate material tracking, and enhance the efficiency of renewable feedstock management. This technological advancement will allow Tagaddod to process larger volumes of certified feedstocks and strengthen its partnerships with major refineries and global companies transitioning to greener energy solutions.
According to Nour El Assal, Tagaddod’s CEO and co-founder, the investment represents more than just financial support—it marks a strategic collaboration aimed at building robust systems for a cleaner, sustainable energy future. She emphasized that TAEF’s regional expertise and commitment to sustainable growth make it an ideal partner for Tagaddod’s next phase of expansion.
With this milestone, Tagaddod is positioning itself as a global leader in renewable and traceable feedstocks, contributing significantly to reducing carbon emissions and supporting the shift towards cleaner fuels in transportation and aviation sectors.
This achievement not only underscores Tagaddod’s innovation and impact but also highlights Egypt’s growing influencein the renewable energy ecosystem. By combining smart technology with sustainability-focused strategies, Tagaddod is setting a strong example for how regional startups can drive environmental and economic transformation across global markets.
