KiwiPay partners with GIMAC to expand cashless payment solutions and financial inclusion in the region

KiwiPay has entered into a strategic partnership with GIMAC (Groupement Interbancaire Monétique de l’Afrique Centrale), through its frontier and emerging markets super- App KiwiGo.

The deal will optimize KiwiGo’s services for financial inclusion and cashless payment solutions to customers and businesses in the CEMAC zone. The new agreement signed with GIMAC institution offers multiple services to customers and merchants while connecting them to cashless payment solutions.

As a super App, KiwiGo currently offers users grocery delivery, ride-hailing, food delivery, taxi, last-mile logistics, e-commerce, hotel, international remittances, e-wallet, and other activity booking services.

The app is currently looking to expand into 20 countries by the end of 2021. Customers on its platform will have access to other payment gateways such as WeChat Pay, Google Pay, AliPay, and Apple Pay, including other local mobile operators.

Central African Economic and Monetary Community countries are Chad, Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, and Equatorial Guinea. There are over 50 banks and microfinance institutions in this zone.

In a statement on the launch, GIMAC General Director Valentin Mbozo’o expressed how he was “excited” to offer people “new opportunities” through KiwiGO’s mobile super app. He further pointed out how “Mobile penetration is growing very fast” in the area.

KiwiPay founder and CEO, Gregory Schmidt, shared how the new network from the partnership with GIMAC allows them to “deploy our super app and its catalogue of services.”

TechinAfrica had earlier covered how KiwiGo launched the KGO token on the Binance Smart Chain network then listed on top international exchanges. Thus far the new token has attracted over 45,000 transactions comprising thousands of holders.
