Optimus Bank Limited, a fully licensed national commercial bank, has officially inaugurated its operations in the country. The bank’s grand opening and formal launch took place in Lagos, where Mr. Oghogho Akpata, the Chairman of the bank, highlighted Optimus Bank’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive financial inclusion and enhance its services.

Akpata stated, “With a dedicated team and a customer-centric approach, we are committed to leading in the digital age by promoting financial inclusion, supporting sustainable initiatives, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve. Together, we will shape a resilient future for Optimus Bank, guided by unwavering integrity and a vision of prosperity that transcends time.”

The bank officially began operations on January 16, 2023, soon after securing a national commercial banking license from the Central Bank of Nigeria on October 21, 2022.

Speaking at the bank’s grand opening, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, underscored Optimus Bank’s potential to contribute to economic growth and stability in the region. He expressed, “Optimus Bank will not only play a pivotal role in established organizations and the banking sector, but also in startups and SMEs. It is poised to uplift people out of poverty.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Optimus Bank for its utilization of cutting-edge technology and innovative practices, aligning with the state’s drive for technological advancement and modernizing financial services.

Dr. Ademola Odeyemi, the Managing Director of Optimus Bank, remarked that the bank’s launch marked a new era in the financial sector, one that removes barriers and creates opportunities for all. He stated, “Our drive lies in delivering outstanding banking solutions and fostering positive change, ensuring that everyone can pursue financial prosperity.
