New data from the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) reveals that over 27.1 million Nigerians currently do not have access to the internet.

Yunusa Ya’u, the Executive Director of the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), cited this data during discussions on Thursday in Abuja at a roundtable focused on Last Mile Connectivity (LMC).

In light of these figures, Ya’u stressed the urgent need for the Nigerian government to formulate a comprehensive policy regarding community networks as a viable solution to bridge the internet accessibility gap.
