Nium, a longstanding partner of Ripple, secured the Gold Award for “Best Cross-border Payments Platform.” Nium harnesses Ripple’s XRP-based cross-border payment platform, On-Demand Liquidity (ODL), further cementing its position as a formidable player in the cross-border payments arena.
Ripple’s Emergence in the CBDC Landscape
The Digital Pound Foundation, which counts Ripple as a member, shed light on Ripple’s achievements in the CBDC domain. Ripple’s CBDC platform is dedicated to delivering a comprehensive solution tailored for central banks, governments, and institutions. Its mission is to enhance financial inclusion while reducing the costs and risks associated with domestic and international payment processes. Ripple equips these institutions with the tools needed to seamlessly issue their own CBDC, narrowing the gap for the unbanked population and providing essential banking services.
Ripple’s Expanding CBDC Influence
Ripple’s deepening engagement in the CBDC realm is underscored by its collaborations with five central banks on successful pilot projects. These initiatives encompass the noteworthy Palau stablecoin, as well as confirmed pilot projects in Montenegro, Bhutan, Hong Kong, and Colombia. Presently, Ripple is engaged in discussions with over 20 nations regarding potential CBDC initiatives. The most recent addition to this list is Georgia, where Ripple Labs has been shortlisted alongside eight other competitors.

At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $0.52724. The XRP price is currently undergoing a retest of the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.52743, following a previous attempt to breach the September high at $0.5493.
