The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar has introduced a new digital ration card service to streamline the distribution of monthly food supplies and fodder to citizens. This initiative is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance electronic services and improve the efficiency of food supply distribution.

The digital ration card offers several features designed for ease of use and security. Beneficiaries can download the electronic card via a mobile application, allowing them to access their food supplies and fodder conveniently. The card can also be shared with a third party, enabling families and individuals to manage their needs more flexibly.

Key security features of the digital ration card include a barcode and a PIN valid for only five minutes, ensuring data protection and minimizing the risk of unauthorized use. These measures are aimed at building trust in the electronic system and ensuring that support is provided exclusively to eligible recipients.

The ministry emphasized that this digital transformation is part of a broader plan to enhance services for citizens and simplify administrative procedures. The new system is expected to reduce congestion at traditional distribution points and promote greater fairness in the distribution of food supplies.

By adopting this digital approach, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry aims to improve the overall efficiency and security of food supply distribution in Qatar, ensuring that citizens receive their allocations smoothly and reliably.
