Ghana: GSE Names Frank Berle as Deputy Managing Director

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has announced the appointment of Frank Yoofi Mensa Berle as its Deputy Managing Director, effective from July 11, 2023.

Berle will assume the responsibility of providing strategic leadership and guidance to the various operational divisions within the GSE.

Before this appointment, Berle held the position of Head of Finance and Administration.

Having joined the exchange in January 2004, Berle has held diverse roles encompassing finance, operations, administration, recruitment, human capital management, surveillance, and clearing and settlement.

A chartered accountant by profession, Frank Berle boasts additional chartered qualifications in taxation, financial economics, and wealth management. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana; a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana; the Association of Certified Chartered Economics, USA; Global Academy of Finance & Management, USA; and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK. Additionally, he holds the title of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA).

Berle holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, undertaken concurrently with a Diploma in Education, all conferred by the University of Cape Coast.

Frank Berle takes on this role during a pivotal period for the GSE, marked by demutualization, a strategic transformation that will see the Exchange transition into a limited liability company.

The Council conveyed their best wishes to Berle, expressing their anticipation of his valuable contribution to the Exchange’s growth and the successful execution of its transformative journey.
