TBS (Touchless Biometric Systems AG) has announced a pair of partnerships to deliver access control based on fingerprint and iris or 3D fingerprint recognition.
Seamless integration of TBS devices with the access control system of solution supplier Gantner, which primarily serves customers in Central Europe and the Middle East, allows access rights to be managed through a single application, according to a company announcement. The GAT Matrix access control software supports iris and fingerprint biometrics from TBS,
Polish Security Printing Works (PWPW), meanwhile, has adopted 3D fingerprint biometric access control provided by TBS and Nedap, with the latter’s AEOS access control system integrated with TBS devices, as explained in a separate announcement. The contactless TBS 3D Terminal fingerprint readers installed by PWPW scan the entire fingerprint from nail to nail, which TBS says allows it to enrol all subjects without failures, and provide the highest level of security, recognition performance and multi-functionality.
“We chose the integrated NEDAP/TBS solution because it fulfils our expectations, although we are no standard customer,” states PWPW’s Production Plant Manager in an announcement. “The solution allows us to implement all the non-standard solutions we are seeking. We are using the system since 2018, and it is what made our INTEGRAF certification possible. We consider this deployment success for all parties involved”. Additionally, the Security Integrator that worked together with PWPW and TBS also stated, “Thanks to the integration of advanced TBS readers and flexibly programmed Nedap controllers, we have also been able to create singular man-lock passages.”
TBS offers biometric enrollment on-device, or through remote access, USB sensors, or mobile devices, according to the announcement of the Gantner partnership. The devices can be used to either identify (1:N) or verify (1:1) a subject, with cards or PINs optionally used with biometric factors. The partnership between TBS and Gantner also provides flexibility, scalability, and reliability.
Morse Watchman, meanwhile, has introduced optional facial recognition to its KeyWatcher and AssetWatcher systems to provide touchless biometric access control, along with an anti-microbial powder coating to reduced the spread of pathogens such as COVID-19.
KeyWatcher is a patented smart key cabinet system, while AssetWatcher is an RFID-enabled locker system.
The integration of facial recognition boosts the security of the systems, while reducing the chance of disease transmission, according to the company. The option will be available in the third quarter of 2020.
ApnaPay launches an iris recognition system for access, time and attendance control
A new system leveraging iris biometrics for touchless access control and time and attendance tracking has been developed by ApnaPay with Fingerprint Cards technology, according to a Tweet.
The system is designed for either offices or “feet-on-street” workforces and is demonstrated working for subjects with and without masks in a video from the Indian company.
FPC began working with ApnaPay in 2018 when an Aadhaar-enabled terminal for point of sale transactions was launched.
