Nigeria: Etsu Nupe Urges Government to Boost Health Budget to Curb Medical Tourism

The Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, has urged the Federal Government to increase funding for the health sector to enhance healthcare services in the country and reduce the trend of medical tourism.

Speaking at the official commissioning of the Primary Health Care Centre constructed and equipped by Sunti Sugar Company for the Kanzhi Community in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, the Etsu Nupe, who also chairs the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, emphasized the need for collective efforts in community development.

He stated, “The era of relying solely on government and companies for development is over. Communities are expected to initiate self-help projects for their advancement.”

He assured continued support from the company in uplifting the living standards of the community members.
