Mobihealth and Airtel Partner to Expand Digital Healthcare Access Across Africa

Mobihealth International has partnered with Airtel to enhance access to affordable digital healthcare services across Africa. This collaboration aims to bridge healthcare gaps by leveraging telemedicine technology to connect users with licensed doctors and medical professionals via video consultations.

Through this partnership, Airtel subscribers across Africa can now access quality healthcare services via Mobihealth’s telehealth app, which is now live on the Airtel network. The platform provides remote medical consultations, electronic prescriptions, diagnostic services, and access to genuine medications.

Dr. Funmi Adewara, Founder and CEO of Mobihealth International, emphasized that this partnership is a significant step towards addressing healthcare accessibility challenges. “Airtel’s vast network and connectivity infrastructure will enable seamless access to Mobihealth’s 24/7 telemedicine services,” she stated.

According to Adewara, the initiative ensures that individuals—whether in urban centers or remote rural areas—can consult with licensed doctors, receive prescriptions, and obtain referrals from the comfort of their homes.

Femi Osinaja, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Nigeria, reaffirmed Airtel’s commitment to enhancing digital healthcare access. “Airtel has always been at the forefront of providing innovative solutions that improve the lives of Nigerians,” he said.

He further noted that the partnership aligns with Airtel’s vision of leveraging digital transformation to bridge healthcare gaps. “Now, our customers can prioritize their health without barriers,” Osinaja added.

Subscribers will benefit from 24/7 access to global medical experts with affordable subscription plans starting from N5000 per year. The partnership also provides secure medical record access, electronic prescriptions, follow-up consultations, and integration with Mobihealth’s solar-powered, satellite-connected telehealth clinics.

This initiative reinforces Mobihealth and Airtel’s shared commitment to harnessing digital technology to improve healthcare delivery and health outcomes across Africa.
