President William Ruto has commenced a two-day visit to India, focusing on fostering healthcare partnerships, particularly in pharmaceuticals production and capacity building, along with collaborative efforts in the education sector.
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, in a statement, highlighted that President Ruto’s discussions in India will include bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leading to the signing of several memoranda of understanding aimed at enhancing ties between the two nations.
The statement outlined the key areas of bilateral discussions, encompassing agriculture, trade and investment promotion, ICT, maritime affairs, and renewable energy.
President Ruto is scheduled to meet with President Droupadi Murmu to address a trade and investment forum, shedding light on the substantial potential for economic cooperation between Kenya and India.
According to Hussein, the State Visit signifies a significant milestone in the relationship between Kenya and India, providing a platform for collaborative initiatives that contribute to mutual benefits for both nations.
President Ruto’s State visit to India comes in response to an invitation extended by India’s President Murmu.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs, on December 3rd, emphasized that President Ruto’s visit aims to enhance the longstanding bilateral relationship between Kenya and India. The visit is deemed crucial, marking the first Presidential visit from Kenya in over six years and is expected to strengthen and invigorate the bilateral relations between the two countries.
