Healthcare professionals are calling for a stronger emphasis on clinical governance to address the ongoing challenges within Nigeria\u2019s healthcare sector.<\/p>\n
At the inauguration of the AGCare Specialist Clinic in Asaba, experts highlighted that the absence of robust clinical governance has significantly hindered the effectiveness and development of healthcare services across the country.<\/p>\n
Dr. Chukwuka Monye, founder of the AGCare Specialist Clinic, underscored the critical role of clinical governance in improving healthcare delivery. He stressed that integrating clinical governance into hospital operations is essential for overcoming current challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur vision is to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone, not just a select few,\u201d Dr. Monye stated. \u201cWe believe that quality care should be widespread, which is why we are expanding our network of centers across the nation. Our approach is to think about healthcare in a more integrated way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr. Ebomwonyi Osagie, Principal Lead at AGCare, explained that clinical governance is a framework designed to ensure high standards of care for every patient. This system involves meticulous oversight from the registration desk through the entire patient experience in the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cClinical governance helps to minimize medication errors, incorrect diagnoses, and litigation risks, aiming to enhance patient safety and the quality of care,\u201d Dr. Osagie said. \u201cBy reviewing and refining processes, we aim to reduce these issues to the minimum possible level.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr. Onyi Babatunde, Chief Executive Officer of the clinic, emphasized AGCare\u2019s commitment to patient experience and community outreach. \u201cWe are dedicated not only to those who visit our facility but also to reaching individuals who cannot come to us. We will periodically provide healthcare services to underserved areas to ensure broader access to quality care,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
