In a significant move to combat multi-dimensional poverty and provide support to vulnerable citizens, the Federal Government has disbursed N135.4 billion to states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) through the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) program. This disbursement follows the second Independent Assessment of Results achieved under the NG-CARES initiative.<\/p>\n
NG-CARES, a $750 million World Bank-assisted Performance for Results Programme, distributes funds based on the results achieved by states and the FCT in their efforts to assist the less privileged.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje, the National Coordinator of the NG-CARES Programme, announced this milestone in a statement by Suleiman Odapu, the Information and Communication Officer of NG-CARES, in Abuja on Sunday, December 3, 2023.<\/p>\n
