The Medic West Africa Exhibition and Conference organizer has announced that Nigeria will host the 2023 edition of this gathering of healthcare trade professionals in West Africa from September 26 to 28, 2023, in Lagos.
Informa Markets, the company behind the event, is planning to hold the 2023 edition of the West Africa Healthcare and Laboratory Expo. The event will feature over 150 exhibiting companies and is expected to draw 4,500 healthcare professionals from 32 countries.
In a statement, Tom Coleman, Exhibition Director for Medic West Africa, highlighted the increasing demand for quality healthcare services in West and Central Africa due to its rapidly growing population. He emphasized the significance of Medic West Africa in driving the progress of the healthcare industry by providing a conducive environment for businesses and stakeholders to connect, engage in discourse, and explore the latest advancements in healthcare technology and solutions.
Coleman also expressed excitement about the launch of Medlab West Africa, which will coincide with the 2023 Medic West Africa event. Medlab West Africa, as a successful global event brand, aims to become the region’s premier event where innovation, collaboration, and growth converge to shape the future of the laboratory industry in West Africa. It will facilitate connections within the medical laboratory community and serve as the region’s largest multi-disciplinary laboratory congress and exhibition.
The Medic West Africa conference, which attracted 3,260 healthcare professionals from 84 countries in 2022 and facilitated $30 million in business deals, intends to provide a platform for leaders to discuss and influence the future of the healthcare landscape in the region. The event will encompass clinical and laboratory conferences, healthcare business seminars, a healthcare leadership conference, and a women-in-healthcare luncheon.
Dr. Tosan Erhabor, Registrar/Chief Executive of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), affirmed the council’s commitment to strengthening health laboratory systems and professional practice for quality services. He also mentioned the partnership between MLSCN and Medic West Africa to launch Medlabas, a platform designed to promote dialogue and the accuracy of medical laboratory test results. This initiative aims to enrich the scientific program of the conference.
