Tappy has introduced a multifunctional smart ring that combines payments and fitness tracking capabilities, allowing users to tokenize their debit, credit, and prepaid cards directly into the ring. Developed in partnership with Thales, the ring incorporates secure element chips to ensure safe, contactless transactions.
In addition to payment functionality, the ring is equipped with sensors to monitor key health metrics, such as heart rate, blood oxygen levels, activity, and sleep quality.
“This innovative product empowers users to enjoy a more active lifestyle without the need for cash or cards,” said Wayne Leung, CEO of Tappy.
Tappy has also collaborated with Thales to introduce its wearable tech to India’s IndusInd Bank. Through the Indus PayWear app, customers can securely tokenize their cards, allowing these tokens to be integrated into various contactless payment forms, including rings, watch clasps, and stickers, for seamless transactions.
