Informa Markets, in an event held in Lagos on Thursday, unveiled its upcoming event series, the West Africa Healthcare, Lab, and Pharma Week, scheduled for April 2024 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. This week-long event will showcase three major global platforms: Medic West Africa, Medlab West Africa, and Pharmaconex West Africa, each dedicated to highlighting recent technological innovations and advancements in the healthcare, medical laboratory, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Amogh Wadwalkar, the Exhibition Manager, emphasized the significance of this initiative as a pivotal milestone for Informa Markets, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the growth and development of healthcare, medical laboratory, and pharmaceutical sectors in West Africa. The West Africa Healthcare, Lab, and Pharma Week aim to bring together the largest gathering of professionals from these sectors for meaningful discussions, exploration of innovative solutions, and contributions to the region’s economic growth.
The event will kick off with the 11th edition of the annual Medic West Africa exhibition and congress from April 17 to 19, 2024, hosting over 6,000 healthcare professionals and stakeholders, along with 200 exhibitors from more than 32 countries. In parallel, Medic West Africa will feature six strategic conferences, providing insights into global healthcare management and creating a platform for regional networking.
Following Medic West Africa, Medlab West Africa will launch as a standalone event from April 22 to 24, 2024, at Landmark Centre. With over 3,500 visitors and 150 exhibitors from 30+ countries, this extension of the global Medlab event series will include six high-level accredited conferences for the medical laboratory community.
Simultaneously, Pharmaconex West Africa will officially launch, offering a comprehensive platform for the pharmaceutical community. Associated with CPHI Global, the world’s largest pharmaceutical platform, Pharmaconex West Africa is set to host 2,000+ visitors and feature 100+ exhibitors across the entire pharmaceutical value chain.
Informa Markets aims to support the region’s healthcare, medical laboratory, and pharmaceutical sectors’ development by fostering collaboration and innovation through these events. The initiative received commendation from Dr. Donald Ofili, Director & Deputy Registrar of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, who highlighted its potential to drive positive transformation across critical sectors.
In addition to the event launch, Informa Markets organized an exclusive roundtable event, bringing together key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector. This gathering facilitated direct engagement, enabling industry leaders, regulators, government officials, and pharmaceutical association representatives to shape the future of Nigeria’s pharmaceutical industry through collaborative discussions and strategic planning.
