MTN Nigeria Champions Human-Centric Innovation at Inaugural Customer Engagement Day

MTN Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing customer experience and digital inclusion through a series of human-centered innovations unveiled at its first-ever Customer Engagement Day, recently held in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Themed “We See You. We Are With You,” the event brought together MTN executives, customers, tech entrepreneurs, and digital enthusiasts for a day of open dialogue, immersive product showcases, and digital capacity-building workshops. The initiative forms part of MTN’s broader strategy to evolve from a traditional telecommunications provider into a purpose-driven digital enabler.

Addressing attendees, Karl Toriola, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, emphasized the company’s commitment to transparency, quality service, and customer empowerment.

“We’ve invested significantly to deliver a network that enables ambition and delivers value for money. While Nigeria still offers some of the most affordable data globally, our focus is on delivering consistency and quality. Today isn’t just about showcasing products—it’s about listening, responding, and reaffirming that MTN is a true partner in our customers’ lives,” he said.

The day featured interactive sessions, including fireside chats, a data literacy workshop, startup pitch competitions, and speed mentorship opportunities. Attendees also explored live demonstrations from MoMo PSB, MTN’s fintech subsidiary, and got first-hand experience of the company’s emerging digital platforms and services.

Ayham Moussa, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the company’s long-standing connection with everyday Nigerians.

“MTN was built by and for Nigerians—from engineers to entrepreneurs. Today, we connect over 80 million people. This engagement is a reaffirmation of our promise: to stand with you, support your ambitions, and be a part of your everyday success.”

Echoing this sentiment, Onyiye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer, noted the event’s role in transforming customer feedback into actionable outcomes.

“We’ve listened—to your concerns, your aspirations, and your personal stories. From families juggling school and work to entrepreneurs scaling businesses online, we understand what’s at stake. Your trust drives us, and we are committed to turning these insights into meaningful change.”
