FIRS, CBN, and Leading Banks to Spotlight Digital Economy at FICAN 2025 Conference

The Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) has announced that its 35th Annual Conference will hold on September 20, 2025, at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos, with strong backing from Nigeria’s top financial institutions and regulators.

This year’s theme, “Bracing for the Digital Economy in Nigeria: Taxation, Banking and Finance,” will explore how technology is reshaping fiscal policy, financial services, and economic inclusion.

Institutional supporters include the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), and leading commercial banks such as UBA, Zenith Bank, FCMB, Unity Bank, and Stanbic IBTC. Their participation underscores the critical role of digital transformation in advancing taxation, banking, and financial stability.

Executive Chairman of the FIRS, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, will headline the event as Guest Speaker, addressing how digital tools can strengthen tax administration and boost government revenue in an increasingly digital economy.

Other notable speakers include Dr. Oliver Alawuba, Group Managing Director of UBA, and Mr. Babatunde Olofin, Managing Director of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, who will share insights on innovation, financial inclusion, and the future of banking in Nigeria.
